The Supreme Court on Friday afternoon put on hold an order by a federal judge in Massachusetts that would have required the Department of Education to reinstate more than $65 million in grants that it terminated in February because they funded programs that included diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.

    TL;DR version: SCOTUS just said that Trump can just refuse to spend money already allotted by Congress. Because Trump needed more power. By extension, this also means that budgets passed by Congress are now just mere suggestions that Trump can ignore.

        It sounds like Scrotus used the, “Congress needs to do their job” excuse, like with citizens united and the executive immunity bullshit. Knowing full well that Congress can’t pass anything besides can kicking budget extensions.
