I’m looking for a midrange android tablet, exclusively for taking notes with a stylus in Obsidian. It doesn’t need to be powerful, but just take good notes. The ideal size is anything 11’’ and under. I would also appreciate if it isn’t too bloated, and behaves similar to stock android. I have looked mostly into the Pixel Tablet as well as the Lenovo M11, P11 and K11. Other suggestions are welcome.

I refuse to buy a Samsung phone or tablet because they’re usually overpriced and bloated as hell. But you’re right that they’re one of the few OEMs actually bothering with Android tablets.

All I want is an Android tablet with good performance that’s supported by LineageOS for a few years.

My previous tablet was a POS from Lenovo. Garbage from day one, but it was supported by Lineage for a few years and let me consume media, which was what I wanted it for. Now I’m on the lookout for something else.

It’s hard to decide what’s overpriced when there’s no competition hahaha

Was your Lenovo tablet better than Samsung tablets you’ve used?

I think for people who don’t want to install custom ROMs / or lineageos then they probably do just fine.

Also getting them used is probably the pro move to save money. Unless you need high end but then you’d probably go with iPad sadly

Nah the Lenovo was absolute hot garbage. And most of my hatred for Samsung is aimed at phones more than tablets.

Like you said, for the average person the tablets are fine, I’m just full of shit about it.

Agreed on getting used or going iPad if you wanted more as well.

Offtopic, but: what bloat is on Samsung phones these days? Last I checked they didn’t come with much, maybe a calendar or a clock app. They don’t even ship their own email app these days, that’s all Gmail and Google now.

There’s a ton of junk - Bixby, the Samsung cloud apps, I have one I have to keep stock for work and another i have Lineage on and the difference is very noticeable, battery drain for one

Been a while since I’ve looked honestly. But the fact that they’re either hard or impossible to flash with custom ROMs (on top of being expensive) in my experience just means I’ll never bother with them.

Hopefully someone else can chime in with more recent experience than me.
