As an European im already confused, why US-American law enforcer publish mugshots (privacy-rights of the offender)
But to post a picture of the offender crying inface of deportation as a ghibli-meme… wow. The USA are really fucked up

Ive been grown up in Germany as part of the evanglian lutherian Church, the main Christian church in northern Germany.
And all the officials of the church (Pastor, superintendend etc) and volunteers ive met have been really nice people. Collecting money and stuff for the poor, giving refugees facing deportation church asylum, taking part in civil rights movements to fight for the rights of minorities like LGBTQI*, people of color or member of other religions, taking care of the old and sick, helping alcohol and drug addicts etc.
Like a good aunt. Not always the most progressive person you know, but still always good hearted and kind and willing to fight for the good.
So churches can be imho a good place.
Yeah, ist just a meme and nobody likes smart arses. But Struwelpeter isnt a FairyTale. It was kind of a teaching book for bad behaving kids. As far as I rember, the author was part of movement, to modernize education. From our perspective ist seems “a little” harsh for kids, but back then it was really progessive.
“Grimmschen Märchen” (Grimms Fairytales) on the other hand are the classic German Fairytales. But for most of the stories, many characters in this stories have a comparable or even more fucked up life. Like many other European Fairy Tales (Hans Christian Anders, Russian Fairy Tales, I dunno). … As long as you take the Original and not the Disney-Version. For Example or spoiler: The little Mermaid isnt living happily ever after :<
I dunno, for some times in history they have been (relativly to the world) the good or at least better ones.
