I disagree that they’ve all done it under political duress. I think many of these companies have used the political environment to be shitty, and drop something they didn’t want to support.

I think it’s just like Republicans over the past 12+ years. Once Trump came along and normalized hate speech, it’s empowered other wastes-of-oxygen to do the same. They’ve always been racists and bigots, but now it’s acceptable to do it publicly. I try to do my part by calling it out when I can. Silence is complacency, so I’m all in on name and shame in the moment.

I agree with you, but I do need to point out that for years Republicans have been screaming election interference just so when it happens against Democrats, it looks petty and not serious. I haven’t dove down the rabbit hole, but it does sound like there has been evidence suggesting maleficence.

It’s kind of a catch 22… In order to investigate potential evidence of election interference, you have to first put on the tin foil hat and believe that it was possible and worth investigating in the first place, which in itself aligns with “qanon BS”.

FWIW, approval ratings don’t matter for elected officials either. They have some meaning for a couple of months leading up to an election, sometimes.

Which isn’t defensible, so go after them. It worked in Nuremberg. The big thing is the charges need to come at a state level so they can’t be pardoned. Although, it’s still an inconvenience to make them get pardoned every time, so if the charges have to be federal, so be it.

Maybe the judge can’t stop Trump, but they can arrest every person on those flights. People will stop lining up when it means their freedom.

I said it in a comment a while back, my brother didn’t vote, but his rhetoric leading up to and to my understanding even after the election were almost just as bad. I’ve said that at the next election, I’ll determine if we will ever talk again depending on the state of the country and the my loved ones. The only reason he has that chance is because he didn’t vote.

If any of these people decide that they were wrong and truly want to help turn shit around, I’ll accept the help, but that’s where the buck ends. We will never again have a relationship.

I think the main point is that non-republicans are still forced to pay taxes, but the elected official is denying those people representation. If he wants to hold a non-republican only event for equal representation, then that’s a really dumb way to do it, but at least is closer to acceptable.

It’s the “taxation without representation” thing, not the “blocking a demographic from their private event” thing.

I don’t know that Vance has that stupid charisma Trump has that his base fucking gargles on. I also don’t think others would be as scared to act against him as they are the current dictator. This is probably just wishful thinking on top of wishful thinking though.

I can think of a certain POTUS that raped a woman, was charged with sexual assault , and is culpable for the deaths of countless Americans.
