  • They may actually be hurting themselves in the long run. The amount of people I know that have decided to get chickens since the pandemic has increased far more than I ever expected it would. And if you’ve ever had your own chickens before, you know that there’s plenty to go around and you share with friends and neighbors. So not only are they permanently losing more customers to people getting chickens, they’re also losing customers to friends of people that have chickens. Plus all these people are getting much higher quality eggs from happy chickens, so why would they ever go back? I know not everyone can, but, the more people that start raising chickens the better!

  • Reposting my comment from another thread:

For anyone that needs this information, you can (currently) order abortion medicine (mifepristone and misoprostol) online in any state. I did it a few days ago and it was stupid easy to do. I’m not pregnant, but I wanted to order some as a just-in-case for myself or others.

The Plan C website has a great list of websites you can order from if you’re not pregnant. It costs about $150 and some offer financial assistance if you need it. But please do it NOW while you still can.

I ordered one from Aid access and one from safe choice. Both asked a few questions that didn’t ask for personal information or ID. They mostly just need an email, address to send it, and a credit/debit card to pay.

Some clarifications from other posters that may be helpful: this medication will keep up to 2 years when stored in a cool dry place. This is also different than plan B. Plan B is usable up to 120 hours after sex and does not require prescription. Where as mifepristone and misoprostol require a prescription (obtainable through these sites) and are usable up to 13 weeks of gestation. You may be able to obtain them at your local pharmacy with a prescription in a legal state (for now).

    Good luck out there everyone.

  • I used to think this was true while working for a B2B company as a graphic designer. Everything just seemed pointless like I wasn’t contributing anything meaningful to the world. But I do think that art in its many forms contributes meaningfully to culture in general and can also be quite powerful when used well. History of graphic design shows just how influential designs were in Nazi Germany and how similar techniques are still used today. Then there is the matter of UI design and how it’s increasingly become essential today. While most applications it’s fine to have a frustrating piece of garbage, UI is rather important for things like medical systems, car displays, and other areas where getting it wrong could mean life or death. Unfortunately my job is still pretty useless to society regardless of these points made. I’ll go back to my corner now.
