Another fact the right likes to ignore is that the inflation started under Nixon. He was paying for the Vietnam War by printing money because he didn’t want to raise taxes. The War was incredibly costly because we were dropping about three Hiroshimas a day on empty jungle. When the Arab Oil boycott hit, it almost crushed the system.

Heinlein’s depiction of Luna is interesting, but he loads the dice in favor of a Libertarian society. Prison gangs were a thing when he wrote the book, which is something he brushes past.
