USA definitely is tribal but I have to say that Democrats do things when their politicians do something crazy. They resign over stuff that a Republican would just ignore. The Democrats have their issues but policing behavior isn’t one of them.
Unless it’s tied to capital and power then senile people can rule even if that is in fact insane.
I wish she had won too. Didn’t really like her but she was miles ahead of trump. I don’t think you should be torn between the two, I think it was both. She listened to some very bad advice and believed the information she had at hand.

Yeah it sucks but it’s the truth. I live by Chicago and a shocking amount of people I interact with drop racist or misogynistic comments without a thought around me because I’m a white guy.
Most comments I’ve heard about AOC are either who or that she’s dumb. I’ve asked two people why she’s dumb and they couldn’t give me a solid reason.
Anyway I guess my point is anecdotally this lines up with a lot of interactions I’ve had in the last few years
