The Republicans have all the power in Congress and they are all afraid of Trump.
The Republicans have all the power in Congress and they are all afraid of Trump.
There’s nothing that can be done. Republicans have every bit of power there is. At least for the next two years.
Not being defeatist, just a realist. Judges don’t matter when SCOTUS is in Trump’s pocket. Republicans know they have these two years to dismantle the government and set it back decades while they have literally all the power. They have everything they need to get it done.
This is what happens when some people choose to stay home on election day because “the Democrats are not doing enough for Palestinians.” Now watch what happens to Palestinians.
Yes, it matter to us, but it doesn’t matter to them. And there’s nothing we can do anything about it. That’s the point. They have the power to do whatever they want right now, every branch of the government, and their supporters and voters with find any excuse to defend their actions no matter how wrong those actions are, because it’s “necessary.”
Sorry, but none of this matters. Republicans are all powerful now. They have the White House, the House, the Senate, SCOTUS, the Fed, the Treasury. For the next two years, they can do whatever they want and act however they like. The voters walked right into this with eyes wide open. I don’t want to hear the excuses and cries. America is just getting what it voted for.
Welcome to the United States of America anno 2025.
Yet, no one’s doing anything about it or can do anything. These people are all powerful now. The White House, the House, the Senate, SCOTUS, Fed. Everything belongs to the Republican Party and they can do whatever, whenever. No checks and balances.
Anecdote: My Trumpster in-laws could not stop yacking about “Biden’s high eggs prices” just last month. Haven’t heard a peep about the price of eggs since Trump came back. Now it’s just “God’s will.”
Republicans don’t care when there’s a Republican in the White House. Then it’s just God’s will.
Yeah, I’m not going to live my life like that.
That’s very pessimistic.
I have a stable job, pension, matching 401k, no kids, no debt (paid off my car and student loans), make 6 figures, and I am STILL convinced that I will never be able to retire.
If this is your reality, there’s more wrong with your expectations than your situation.
Important to understand that there’s also a form of civil war going on within the Church in the US between the more liberal churches, which this pastor represents, and the conservative, evangelical churches, which Mike Johnson represents.
Americans are too dumb to have this much power. It’s all size and no substance. We need to find a better way to distribute power in this world.
