  • I thought the cars were mediocre at best and overpriced. The more I learned the less i liked them.

    • Primary door function being completely electronic with a warning that using the manual release could damage the car.
    • Proprietary navigation, so traffic data only comes from other Tesla’s.
    • Lack of lidar, which has been the standard for accident avoidance tech since forever.

  • It’s such an easy concept. I can’t figure out if they actually don’t get it because they are so narcissistic and why would anyone appreciate a few million in aid or if they are just playing stupid to posture to their base and be able to do even worse while everyone is distracted.

I think the later might be more accurate and I’m really curious what else I am missing.

  • I was a Bernie and Hillary voter as well. I also failed to convince a number of other Bernie voters that they had to support Hillary.

She held too far center for too long and a lot of Bernie voters didn’t trust her or the party. Hell, even when she announced a push for an amendment in her first 30 days I didn’t buy it would happen but I also knew we needed to keep Trump out.

Really I still didn’t trust the party. I still don’t think we have enough progressives and will still do what we need to keep corporate donors happy above the voting public.

Money is speech and it has the loudest platform.

  • While I agree that first past the post is the worst possible option, we need national reform as well.

STAR or RCV has the potential to break the 2 party system where votes are counted, but it comes up short against the electoral college system. As long as the electoral college is how we choose our President we will only have 2 viable candidates and the parties will have elevated power to not only choose our candidates but to elevate their preferred down ballot candidates which hobbles alternative voting mechanisms.

The electoral college combined with citizens United gives the parties practically unchecked power.
