the paradox of tolerance is […] Purely academic
Yes? That’s kinda the point of a thought experiment ? Do you think the trolley problem is less than “purely academic”? Or that Schrodinger actually put a cat in a box?
It was a 7 leaf clover ;)
But yeah this one makes me sob uncontrollably
Its not nearly as Dinky as it looks in this picture. Its almost the entire width of the device. I got to play with it a bit and its actually super stable, its obviously not 100% rigid and personally I wouldnt use it like that because its a bit awkward. But its a really cool device.
Here’s the store page with some more pics of it.
Okay yeah. That could be a fair compromise. I like that.
Honestly I would be okay with giving them 6-12 months of leeway. There’s a ton of reasons why it could take 6 months or more to be able to find a tenant, especially if the previous tenant did significant damages or if there’s wider economic issues in the area.
Not after it spread to their yard
if you could cross this impassable stretch of inhospitable wilderness then all you would need to do is cross this other impassable stretch of inhospitable wilderness!
I know what you meant but it was funny to me haha
So I walked the Pacific Crest Trail in 106 days. That’s 2650mi/4264km so I walked about 25mi/40km per day.
So if I could maintain that pace (which is debatable because the PCT doesn’t go through different countries or warzones) this would take me 557 days, or about 18 months.
Yes that’s why I called them “people absolutely in the top 1%”
More as a percentage* than nurses.
That’s one of the arguments my dad makes too, depending on the source he pays like 1-2% in taxes on a given year which was over a billion dollars last year.
My dad (long time conservative but can’t get on the trump train which is good at least) thinks that “tax the rich” means people like high end doctors and surgeons. People who are absolutely in the top 1% but like “has a nice weekend car and maybe a lake house” not people making millions of dollars per month or week (or more)
I feel like thats just how it is to talk to conservatives. Like they get so close and then at the very last second they take a hard left and blame minorities somehow
Hell even without that hiring is really really hard. Im the IT manager for my company and I’m looking to hire for some level 1 help desk type positions. They don’t need to be super experienced, but they do need to know things like “what is group policy” or “how would you troubleshoot this hypothetical issue”. Basically they should be able to pass the Comptia A+ test, even if they dont actually have it.
My God I got over 600 applications within a business week! The vast majority of those applicants were from people with no experience, lots of experience in a different field!
Like I was getting these applicants from people who have 15 years of plumbing or machining experience. Or people who clearly haven’t been able to hold down a job (if you bounce from minimum wage job to minimum wage job every other month, that’s a bad look). Or on the other end of the spectrum, I was getting people with decades of sysadmin experience applying too.
I had to start having HR filter the top and bottom out of the stack so I could actually see useful data.
Yeah but Soyuz has a pretty long track record of being safe
Brock Turner? The rapist Brock Turner? The same Brock Turner who goes by Allen Turner now because he kept getting called a rapist?
You mean like the Dutch who sent a convicted pedophile to the Olympics?
Edit: sorry getting a 12 year old drunk and raping her doesn’t make you a pedo according to The Dutch Olympic committee
2 out of the 3 DSN locations aren’t even in the US or managed by NASA.
Also, fun fact, the Canberra complex has the only antenna that can communicate with Voyager 2!
I mean there’s a difference between normal steak and wagu too.
Like at my Walmart steak is selling for ~$10/lbs, and ground beef is like $6 or $7 per pound. Right now beyond ground beef is selling for ~$11/lbs.
And it doesn’t taste the same. So you will actually have to hit that $3/lbs mark your talking about before it becomes a good option. Because pork chops are already only $4/lbs
He’s traveled there a bunch and owns real estate in Russia, but I don’t believe he ever lived there? I also haven’t seen any real evidence that Melania has any ties to the KGB outside of just being Russian.
Edit: before anyone gets any ideas I am an American and I did not vote for trump.
