I use it for keybinds that I don’t use very often, but still need on occasion. Frees up the other keys for more important stuff. Very useful for weapon hotkeys in games like Fallout when I have a ton of guns.
I use the number pad for various keybinds in games where there are too many things to control with the keys I regularly use.

I see a lot of the former on Lemmy too, unfortunately. Certain inflammatory users like to treat being heavily downvoted as some sort of victory and will write a long rant about it in an edit, because all of the “liberals” (that being anyone who disagrees with them) on this platform just can’t handle the truth that only they apparently see. They think they’re owed a multi paragraph point by point rebuttal of every point they make no matter how blatantly stupid or wrong it is. They never consider whether their arguments are even worth bothering with a rebuttal in the first place, and anyone who does try and argue usually gets nowhere.
It’s a shame they’re bending over backwards for a troll that is making fun of them.
And it definitely isn’t going to get accidentally pressed at the worst possible moment, interrupting your gameplay and likely making you lose! Especially in an online game!
