  • I love dogs. I love looking at them. I love playing with them. Dogs are the best.

But don’t fucking bring your dog…

People are scared of dogs. People are allergic to dogs.

I know you love your dog, I probably love your dog too but I don’t think I should bring my dog anywhere indoors and/or crowded and neither should you.

Obviously!!! If your dog is a service dog, I am not talking about you and your dog. You just make me sad because I can’t play with your dog :( even tho they are such a good boy/girl…

  • Sam altman? You went for Sam altman as an “ai safety researcher that is really an hype man”? Is there a worst example? The CEO of the most well known ai company tries to undermine the actual ai safety research and be perceived as “safety aware” for good pr. Shocking…

Elsevier yudkowsky seems to claim that misalignment is a continuous problem in continuously learning ai models and that misalignment could turn into a huge issue without checks and balances and continuously improving on them. And he makes the case that developers have to be aware and counteract unintented harm that their ai can cause (you know the thing that you called ai ethics)

  • Right wing policies aren’t all just American right bullshit.

Google what right wing means outside of the us. And outside of the far right Parties that parrot the American right. You would find that there are a lot of right wing policies that aren’t factually provably incorrect. Or at least not obviously less flawed than competing ideas.

I don’t like the political right but I rather admit that it doesn’t have to be completely stupid ideas, create a social awareness that there is an alternative to left wing politics that isn’t putting e.g. trans people’s lives in danger.

You can be right wing and not be a bigot. You can be right wing and support social welfare.

If you act like it is either support the left or support the full-on fascist hate mob, you get more of the full-on fascist hate mob. I rather be honest and acknowledge the existence of “non fascist hate mob” political right and by doing so, take power away from these hate mobs and protect the victims of the hate groups. othering through Demonization works best if both sides are doing it.

  • There is always survival times. Sure, some are worse than others, but there are always survival times.

This is more about the personal journey. E.g. in a system that oppresses you, hiding might be easier and less taxing than fighting it, so if you learned to hide to survive, but your goal might be to become someone who has the strength to fight that system to change it. Someone that you like as you “finally” work towards getting to a place where you can thrive.

  • Yeah the child thing is embarrassingly the kind of thought process that a child would have. An adult can’t be flawed, is famously a thing a lot of children think of their parents at first. And it isn’t proper, which is why I said the conversation doesn’t have to be so black and white. Ironically this paragraph isn’t nice either.

I am not sure if “thinking less of them” should be read as “less than me”.

Anyway I don’t have an issue with you. I just thought the conversation is very hostile when your point seems to be about appreciating others and welcoming difference. It seems to be a waste of your energy and time.

    Take care!

Edit: if you are wondering why I focused my critic on you. They didn’t seem interested in a conversation anyway. I mean “sky daddy”?

  • I think this conversation is way more black and white than it needs to be.

You can love and respect someone while thinking that that one belief is really stupid. In fact shockingly stupid. (Not saying religion is shockingly stupid)

I am sure, your best friend once said something or did something that you judged them for negatively. Made you think less of them. While loving them as a whole.

  • That is the insane part. Honestly I thought so. I literally read an bias as fuck biography of that guy, believing that I would find some competency. Even they failed to spin the yarn in that way. The most positive spin was effectively “musk is a good promiser/beggar”.

Context, it was in the early Tesla days, in which people hope he would kickstart a change.
