  • I’m reading his “safe” comment in a bit of a different light. The Harris campaign was playing “safe” politics by ooh rah-ing about the military, guns, and the border. By throwing their full support behind Israel and shouting down and cutting out concerned for the Palestinian people. By running around with Liz Cheney.

Their campaign started off strong. Kamala was brat, Walz was calling Trump and his allies weird and joking about Vance fucking his couch. There was energy but they dropped the ball by switching to the “safe” Democrat campaign book. They didn’t go out to speak to the people where they were at town halls like Walz said in the article, they didn’t have firebrand Walz shining a flashlight on how bizarre Trump’s people are, they didn’t have a message that would excite the people and really shake up a statue quo that was slowly and inexorably draining Americans of their economic prospects. They just played the safe Democrat game of incrementalism and subservience to wealth and power rather than the people.

Obviously Walz didn’t say all this, but I think the “safety” he refers to absolutely refers to Kamala’s campaign adhering too closely to a traditional campaign style that was not going to win them much enthusiastic support.

As if there aren’t countless examples of Republicans putting on ridiculous theatrics to disrupt Democratic majority house business without ANY consequences.

The fact remains that when a Democrat stands up and causes he disruption he gets thrown out and censured by members of his own party, but when the Republicans do it nothing happens.

Don’t be fucking pedantic, there is absolutely a double standard at play here.

  • I mean yeah that was the point. He was calling out a dictatorial government for dismantling necessary government programs and institutions that tons of Americans rely on until they removed him from the room. Which is awesome! It’s the kind of shit more Democrats should be doing.

Him getting removed isn’t the problem, it was the fact that 10 cowards from his own party voted to censure him for it and a bunch of other Dems sat by and did nothing.

  • It drove me crazy how much people acted like the Mueller investigation exonerated Trump completely. It absolutely did not and everyone just dropped the topic after it came out. Even Rachel Maddow who seemed to be desperately chasing her Woodward and Bernstein moment with her coverage of the investigation seemed to stop talking about the investigation as soon as the report came out as if there wasn’t anything to talk about, even though a bunch of Trump allies were charged and convicted for engaging in secret dealings with agents related to Russia.

  • What a catastrophically dumb take. People WERE explaining that freedom of speech only prevents the government from taking action against you based on your speech, and even then that it’s limited. If you missed that then you’re too ignorant to be commenting on the subject.

Calling the phrase fascist is just bafflingly stupid as well. Saying that people are not free from consequences of their speech in NO WAY supports the use of physical force to quell people’s right to participate in politics for the simple act of asking a question. Any interpretation of “freedom of speech isn’t freedom from consequences” that concludes that it means that all speech should be subject to any consequences is embarrassingly brain-dead.

You’re free to be this clueless on a public forum, but you’re not free from being called out for your dumb take. That is a consequence. It doesn’t mean that a big muscly dude can justifiably take your phone and smash it into pieces so you can’t comment anymore.

Hey I’m Canadian too. Don’t speak for “the rest of us.” It’s the Democratic parties’ own gd fault that they lost. If you can’t convince the average voter to vote for you when you’re running against an obviously volatile, incompetent, narcissistic, geriatric moron with fascistic tendencies backed up by the world’s richest and least charismatic deadbeat dad then you done fucked up.

It’s not contrarianism. If the best argument for voting Democrat was “they’re not Donald Trump” then they fucked up as a political party running a presidential campaign. Blame your horribly shitty Democratic party for being unelectable, not the people who weren’t convinced they should support them.

The Democrats made a conscious, politically-motivated choice to pretend that Americans are not financially suffering to any significant degree (patently absurd), to parade around billionaires and buddy up with a Cheney of all people, to ooh rah about guns, the border, and the military, and to silence and shut out the voices of victims of genocide and their supporters while praising and platforming people who represent those committing said genocide. Gee, I wonder why they lost??? It’s a total mystery.

The Democrats designed their campaign around reaching out to right wing voters, most of whom were always going to vote Republican because they always vote Republican, no matter whose name is on the card, and basically just told the left to go fuck themselves but to vote for them anyways.

The Democrats are a joke and they have nobody to blame for their loss but themselves. But that’s not what Dem aligned mainstream media tells you, right? No, according to them you can never blame the rich and powerful people who failed to gain the support they needed to win. No it’s always the fault of other, regular people. Especially if they’re on the LEFT!!! No don’t blame the rich and powerful! Never blame the rich and powerful! Just blame the people screaming for a political party to actually represent them.

  • The idea that Gaza would have been a-ok if Harris won is insane.

A Democrat victory would have meant next to nothing to the Palestinian people. Dems don’t care about them either.

It’s also a lie that pro-Palestine voters withheld their votes in any significant number as well. That’s just the MSM trying to pass the buck onto the left while ignoring the fact that the Dems have nobody to blame for their loss but themselves.

You’re buying into propaganda from the Dems’s “good guy” billionaires.
