Nah Politics is everything now.

I don’t want no vanilla ass store that sells basic neutral beige non-offensive stuff, and say wishy washy bullshit to not offend snowflakes.

The stores I go to support the environment. They give back to communities and schools. They treat their workers right. They put up giant rainbow flags and donate to progressive movements.

I can choose from hundreds of places to shop. Make a MAGA store. At least that tells me to avoid it. But it’s the “We don’t talk about politics” stores that really piss me off.

I send emails to their support team every time I buy something at Costco to remind them. I’m probably blocked by their systems.

But it’s about the message.

Boiled eggs that kids paint and then hidden on the church grounds is the norm where I am.

It’s 3 two hour events with different age groups. Eggs are rarely sitting around for longer than that.

Apparently feeding school kids for free was controversial (and still is controversial).

And I watched a fellow parent on Facebook post an event about bake sales to raise money, to immediately sharing talking points about why it’s bad for kids to get free school lunches.

I laughed way too hard at this. Its only been a month or two since I switched to Lemmy and already I’m getting the injokes.

They’re so compromised, they even add Editor-in-chiefs to text chains!

It worked to lower covid! Can’t get record numbers of people dying from covid when you aren’t tracking!

This is my take. Once their bottom line starts fluctuating, they’ll simply find a new loophole to exploit so money keeps flowing, while slightly adjusting their fleet of yachts to a safer distance.

There’s no allegiance to anything. US is just the most convenient place to generate wealth right now.

Where I live, there’s a bunch of abandoned squatter places where drug heads go to shoot up.

There’s been countless court cases of the city government trying to sue the landlords who own it. 90% of the time, the lawsuit fails because of some clause where if the landlord isn’t able to show up (because they live in a different state or a foreign investor), the court hearing gets postponed.

My city tried to pass an ordinance to remove that clause but it was shot down.

So random crack house owned by some rich asshole in California that’s next to a school doesn’t get any better for years.
