The logic is clear: the US owns trillions in untapped assets but still runs massive deficits.

They want to put federal land up as collateral for loans. Instead of just issuing debt in the government’s name, they want to get lower interest rates by putting up US land as collateral. And when they manage the government right into default, the bankers will take possession of all national parks and federal land. That’s what ‘monetize’ means. It means put up as collateral.

Well, in the end, it was the voters that spoke. And they sent her packing.

And the centrists who endlessly said, “Donald Trump will be even worse for Palestine!,” we seem to now have a cease fire, even before Trump takes office. It looks like this particular genocide will be one that was entirely on Biden’s watch.

I voted for the Dems in 2024. And honestly, I wish I hadn’t. I was disgusted by their stance on Palestine, but I figured at least they would support trans people against conservative extermination efforts.

For my vote and vocal support, how did Dems reward me? Democrats rewarded me by voting for the first anti-LGBT federal law in 30 years, willingly sentencing several hundred trans children to death for cheap political points. All Republicans had to do was attach their persecution bill to a “must pass” defense spending bill, and Democrats folded like a house of cards. And they also refused to stand to defend the first trans person elected to the House. I have no doubt that this pattern will continue. To laws that must pass to fund the government, Republicans will just attach one rider after another that strips my civil rights away one at a time. And Democrats will tit tit and say, “well, I really wish we could prevent Republicans from murdering innocent people, but this bill simply has to pass, so our hands are tied.”

Even AOC, who was one of the few people to say anything in defense of the new trans representative, didn’t have the courage to actually stand up for trans people directly. She said bathrooms bans were bad because cis women might get caught up in them. And they demonstrated this complete surrender to fascism before Trump even came into office.

In the end, I did not get the satisfaction of a clean conscience. I held my nose and voted for a pro-genocide party, because I hoped they would at least stand up for my rights. But I didn’t get even that. Instead I got a party that is perfectly willing to throw people like me to the wolves, as long as Republicans give them a fig leaf excuse to use. Honestly, I wish I hadn’t voted for Kamala. Democrats aren’t going to stand up for my rights, and I still have the guilt of voting pro-genocide on my conscience.

I suppose it should have been pretty obvious. Dems were willing to throw one minority group to the wolves for political expediency, why wouldn’t they do it to another?

Well as long as the soldiers get their Christmas bonuses, I suppose a few thousand dead children is an acceptable price to pay. We wouldn’t want the soldiers to have their Christmas ruined, and it’s not like it would be the Republicans’ fault for politicizing a must-pass spending bill. Oh well, it’s not like trans kids are really human, a 9/11 worth of child corpses is fine. We wouldn’t want to ruin Christmas.

An RTO mandate is proof of a company’s path to bankruptcy. Many executives mostly view work as a social club or a hobby, rather than an actual place of business. RTO mandates are undeniable proof that corporate leadership cares about the wrong things. Some just want to spend their day shmoozing. Some are psychopaths who just get a sick pleasure out of lording themselves over underpaid workers. Some are just sex perverts and dislike WFH because it makes it hard to rape employees. But regardless, a RTO mandate is damning evidence that a company is circling the drain. It’s evidence that leadership has lost the plot, and that they care more about vibes and then their own vanity than they do actually running a successful company. Short any company that uses RTO, as it’s a surefire sign they’re on the decline. They’ve officially lost the plot. An RTO mandate is as damning as a going out of business sale or having payroll checks bounce.

Shit. Do you have any idea how hard it is to get that surgery? When I got it, insurance didn’t cover it. I had to fly to Thailand to afford it. Even with going overseas it was still about $18k USD including flights and everything. And that was in 2013 dollars. I worked my ass off to afford that. And that’s to say nothing of the endless psych evals, therapist letters, and myriad other hoops you have to jump through. It is NOT something you can just stumble into, even if you had an unlimited budget behind you.

And I’ll tell you, I was pretty young looking for my age. A bit into transition I was once walking down the street in the middle of the day on a weekday, and I literally had a cop stop me, thinking I was a high school student playing hookie from school. Meanwhile I was 24, having recently finished a masters degree.

My point is…if you could just walk into a high school and get surgery covered like that, and done no questions asked? I would have legitimately become one of those weirdos who fakes being a teenager and enrolls in a high school in their twenties. I probably could have pulled it off. I would have claimed to be a homeless kid, enrolled in a local high school, got the surgery, and then disappeared again. Compared to what I did go through to get it, that would be child’s play.

Of course, idiots like Trump don’t even realize how involved that surgery is. This is not some outpatient procedure you do in the morning and are up on your feet in the afternoon. Plan a month off of work. That’s what it realistically involves. Then imagine paying for it and finding a way to arrange such an extended absence from the very job that allows you to afford it, all while also paying your regular bills and keeping a roof over your head.

For those who need it, gender reassignment surgery is literally life-saving. I can say that from personal experience. But to see ignorant fools like Trump make light of a thing that you had to work so hard to get?..I do not have the words to express it.
