I’m shocked, I tell you, shocked.
The only good authoritarian is a dead authoritarian.

Sure, as long as it could get through the US military. There’s a lot of presence up there, including a lot of nuclear missiles and units related to missile defense. Not to mention, the vast untapped resources the Trump admin and republicans want to sell to corporations. The federal government couldn’t afford to just let Alaska go. It’s more likely a state like California or Texas would be allowed to secede from the Union than Alaska.
Best part is, they get away with it because they were just doing as they were told, even though the order is probably more than a little unrealistic. I’m not gonna pretend I know about classified military research, but the F-35 is supposedly top of the line. Do they even have the tech to make a more advanced fighter right now? Probably not, which means they’ll say they have to spend more developing it all.
What Trump doesn’t get, is even if the next president is a republican, they probably aren’t gonna be interested in spending billions on expanding Trump’s legacy, when they can cancel it and make themselves look like a responsible budget manager.
That’ll probably be on the plane he named after himself, the F-47. Assuming Boeing doesn’t just take the taxpayer money for four years and then drop it as soon as the next president gets elected.
Now that’s the kind of direct action I like to see!
I mean, literally nobody on either side thought he was.
Yeah, that’s all anyone is doing.
Trump running for a third term is basically the plot of Civil War (2024).
He said something very close to it just recently in regards to shutting down criticism of any kind towards Israel, so I don’t think it’s unfair to say it’s something he thinks, even if he’s probably too smart to use those exact words.
EDIT: To be clear, I’m not talking about the being president three times, I’m specifically talking about the denying American people a choice, although in this thread the two are intertwined.
You’re right, out of either party it’s definitely the Democrats that should be known for not doing anything.
What do you know, Trump was right. Civil War (2024) was about him.
Hey, if he wants to weaken the US military, you won’t hear any protest from me. Hopefully he makes it harder for the US to hit their recruitment numbers as well.
A weaker US military is better for the rest of the world. A fact that probably won’t sit well with a lot of Americans.
No, I’m not getting a really bad feeling about it, any more than I get a bad feeling about the other right-wing social media sites. If they want their own little echo chamber because they don’t feel safe on ones they don’t control, then great. It gets them off of social media the rest of us use.
As for it reinforcing their bad behavior, that’s going to happen no matter what. These people want to be hateful little shits, and no amount of hand-wringing about misinformation is gonna change that. If Elon wasn’t a nazi, they would just go search out something controlled by somebody who was.
I’m all for anything that makes Israelis furious, and am absolutely delighted that the Trump admin is so stupid they exposed an Israeli spy to danger.
Ah, I should have guessed that from the quotes, huh? That was my bad.
So your position is that they did something you didn’t like a decade ago, and so that makes them untrustworthy now?
At least you’ve admitted that your argument is nothing more than an opinion.
That’s very good advice. The article you links specifically says “Allegedly” in the title. Let me save you the hassle of getting a dictionary and explain to you the definition of “allegedly”:
used when something is said to be true but has not been proved [source]
The article not only does not provide proof, but it admits that it does not provide it. You, however, continue to insist it does because you want it to be true.
Then you didn’t read it very good, if you not only missed the fact the article was alleging Proton was hacked by Israel, as well as believe it provides proof of that claim when it does not.
No, the post is a conspiracy theory that gives no evidence to support the claim. You can’t use an allegation as evidence to support your allegation, that’s circular logic.
You think all the people with 401(k)s voted for Trump? I’m curious as to what leads you to that conclusion?
