I am honestly this close to believing that a bunch of online Marxist-Leninists are actually MAGA operatives seeking to normalize Trump’s actions. I just don’t see what a real leftist movement has to gain from trying to convince us things are business as usual when they so clearly aren’t.
“Sadly” a whimper would be a blessing. To say otherwise is to imply extreme violence is desirable.
If given an independence option (well really it would only be viable if other Northeastern states left,) I’d vote for that, but if it’s just stay or join Canada I’d vote for joining Canada.
Walz and AOC are the candidates worth talking about right now, because they’re the ones showing leadership.
Go away, Kamala. And Biden, along with plenty of others.
I like that Schumer is scared, I just wish Vance was.
The problem with the Biden economy was that the conventional economic measures were good, but groceries still went up. Effectively, this already didn’t work for Biden, even though Biden technically wasn’t lying.
I would never recommend Twitter to normal people, but she’s a politician, she has to go where the people are.
I would argue she should be encouraging people to use Mastodon, but the fact is most people currently on Fediverse either already agree with her positions or think she’s “lib controlled opposition.”
And conservatives and tankies will still deny he’s a Russian asset.
My two cents is that most former presidents should be silent. Especially Biden.
The one who shouldn’t is Obama, the only former president who is actually viewed favorably in America.
I’m of the opinion that retrospective Obama love represents missing normalcy more than actual Obama, even if not everybody realizes that.
This right here, this is why so much of the initial reaction to Trump winning was resignment. You can’t have the pedal all the way down 24/7 for NINE FUCKING YEARS and not experience burnout. Not to mention, how doomscrolling can delude you into thinking it’s doing something. It’s not, and unlike doomscrollers, football fans (REGARDLESS of which “football” it is) know damn well it does nothing about world problems.
Ain’t got no Costco to go to personally. I go to a regional chain, but I am suspicious of the prices sometimes (why are the 12 packs of sodas often on sale for 14.88?)
