The best they can do is probably close their Canadian/Mexican plants if the losses are too great, which would increase unemployment in those areas for not only the automotive factories, but also the ones for the automotive suppliers. Even if a Chinese company swoops in to buy the factories, it’d take time to set things up.

lol it’s the Inflation Reduction Act that was signed while Biden was in office. It included a bunch of funding items, but notably it had money for transportation infrastructure across the nation. Whitmer ran on fixing the roads, but struggled to get funding with the GOP running the state legislature for the first part of her time as governor.

Hopefully Whitmer gets all the cash she can from the IRA before it’s gutted.

I think around the 38 minute mark is the closest he gets to answering who is going to live in the Gaza strip in the future.

Yeah the GOP tried that in Michigan in select cities during the Snyder administration using their “Emergency Manager” law. They tried to save money in Flint by switching to a closer water source and then proceeded to cut corners in that transition process. Obviously things went very poorly.

Looking at how .world did things with piracy community last year, they may have to make some level of TOS changes after consulting with their legal team. I’d imagine other instances might follow their guidelines too.

Kent County is in the northern part of the lower peninsula. The most well known city in the area is Grand Rapids, home of the DeVos family (Amway, Former Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos). In more recent history they have usually been right leaning, and the sheriff’s office had been in the news for not the greatest reasons.

That’s what I know and colors my perception. I’m honestly surprised that Harris won that county, so maybe there is a culture shift up there.
