And while Schumer did not ultimately vote yes on the bill itself, his advocacy and yes vote on the cloture motion likely secured Friday night’s outcome.

This was about cloture vote, I doubt they will vote yes to the bill.
Given everything you have seen since Trump took office, do you think they don’t want a government shutdown? RN so much of what the administration is doing is illegal, Democrats have no legislative power to curb that, but they can keep receipts and deal with it in two years. If the government shuts down, the administration will have the actual authority to decide what is “critical” and will furlough the rest until they all are forced to quit and find other work. A government shutdown effectively does the job they want done, and they get to blame the Democrats for it at their leisure.
I’m not sure one can use ancient Greece as an exampe of democracy not being tied to wealth.
Is the DEI in the room with them now?
Just that self-awareness puts you far over most.
ITT people who do not read the article
That formula hasn’t been valid for like, 20 years?
I have a feeling the poors don’t move to different cities/states that often.
It’s like the insult: “Try hard.” Umm, yeah, why would I not try hard?
This is the actual “liberal world order” that Conservatives want to dismantle. It’s one created by the US providing needed assistance while growing itself. The view that a rising tide lifts all ships.
That’s the thing about how headlines mislead. When they say, “US sends $x in aide or weapons,” what they really mean is that the US is subsidizing an American lobby group. Not to say that is bad thing, just that it gives the wrong impression.
District offices are paid for from House office budgets.
ITT people who have no idea how the Democratic party is structured, nor how the DNC chair is elected, nor been involved in party politics, complaining about the DNC anyway.
Not organic, and cage free < free range < pasture raised
Yes, but the goal of a tarrif is to create incentives for onshore investment and development to come it at a $1.50 price point. We, in general, have moved past that by using subsidies to not create issues for the economy in the short term.
I use uppercase “Conservative” to indicate Ia.talking about the modern brand name vs. the lowercase “conservative” to talk about the actual political term.
