Serious question, what are we meant to do with all the die-hard Trumpers? Like there are people who are willing to kill for him, people who have gladly sacrificed their relationships with their friends and family for him. Even in the absolute fantasy world where the U.S. gov could be fixed via electoralism, we’d still have about a third of the country that is hungry to kill the other 2/3rds.

Some did say that. You can likely count the number on your hands. But one of the very first actions the newly formed U.S. government took was putting down a rebellion. They were not supporters of revolution, they were supporters of their own personal interest.

Because there are just as many people today who would be willing to rise up blindly in defense of their oligarchs, just as they were willing to fight for their oligarchs profit margins back then.

Because leftist groups in the U.S. have none. We’ve been desperate for funding for decades now. All media outlets are suppressing us. You cannot expect the same level of performance as when the oligarchs were on our side.

It seems like you fundamentally misunderstand the history and current situation in the United States, and are trying to criticize us without any context.

Your point is based on fundamentally flawed information. You can make the argument that Americans should engage in revolution! But I would point the example towards the great work of unions during the Industrial Revolution, rather than pointing to one of the many times the U.S. rose up to blindly support their oligarchs.

I know it sounds fun to believe that friendship or togetherness can topple a nation that’s willing to drone strike its own citizens, but the truth is that the game is so heavily rigged in the U.S. that we have a lot of needs. We need guns, we need intelligence, and we need enough peer to peer outreach to actually organize. Without third-party assistance, it’s pretty hard to go beyond the local protesting we’ve already been doing.

Everyone likes to fantasize about Jan 6th without realizing there were big financial groups working on outreach, organization, and supporting travel to the capital to make that happen. There is no money for the left in the U.S. You really want to yell at us, at least donate to organizations like Indivisible first.

The only thing they hated is that they couldn’t be the British aristocracy. They absolutely were oligarchs and the vast, vast majority did not due it out of noble reasons. They did it because they wanted more profits.

That is such a gross and fundamental misunderstanding of the Revolutionary War it’s almost comical. Probably most important to note is that the Revolution was bankrolled by U.S. oligarchs, and we received a lot of help.

The biggest problem the left faces is that money is required for any political action in the U.S., and there is no money for the left. No billionaire will fund 50501, or Our Revolution, and in fact they’ll gladly spend several million dollars defeating leftist primary challengers and suppressing news of protests.

Our political system is hopelessly rigged. There is no longer any way to use it to save ourselves.

Bro I can’t even physically get to my state’s capital. It’d be like a four hour train ride, and a few hundred dollars. Maybe if there was funding for busses there could be higher turnout, but the only people who want to resist are the ones who are already poor and desperate. Things are still fine for the people who’ve always been comfortable.
