There’s a big difference between academically knowing how a person feels–in a disconnected way–and actually being able to relate to that feeling as if you were experiencing it yourself.

Empathy is defined as the ability to understand and share the feelings and emotions of another person.

You’re right that it’s trivial to find examples of bad people who understand the emotions and feelings of others, but it’s a lot harder to be a bad person when you can share those emotions and feelings yourself.

Wait can you expand on that a little more? I literally was just now getting ready to try and troubleshoot why my hardlinking was not working.

I did the same as you at first TBH, but quickly found that as long as I dumped the files in generally the correct folder structure, Jellyfin would figure it out. And for the few it doesn’t, you can manually identify within the webUI as others have pointed out.

I also stressed a bit about shows, but have found that

/Show (YEAR)/Season 1/whatever garbage naming convention the torrent uses

generally gets picked up with no problems, even if there is an extra folder level beyond “Season 1”.

It just seems like an issue that transcends the nature the productivity base of the economy, and has more to do with how power is distributed (or not!) in society. I mean, being a manufacturing-based economy certainly didn’t keep oligarchs at bay in the early 1900’s US. On the flip side, a coder or a banker can strike just as well as a machinist.

I’ve always wondered what is the significance of mentioning the transition from a manufacturing-based to a sevices-based economy.

I feel pretty stupid for overlooking something so simple, but since qBittorrent never indicated any kind of connection error, I didn’t even think to dig into such things.

I’m using Proton’s VPN client, which does have port forwarding, but it’s not currently enabled. Could this be causing me issues?

Sounds like if I enable port forwarding, I just need to ensure qBittorrent’s “listening port” is set to whatever active port the VPN client is using.
