But I can assure you we are extremely confident we know the age of the Earth. In fact we have known the age of the Earth with high confidence longer than we’ve known age of the universe that contains it.

The ages of various life forms on the earth are much more nebulous but the age of the actual rock that makes the planet up, is known.

We pretty confident in the age of the Earth and have been pretty confident in its age for quite some time if you asked 20 scientists they will all give you pretty much the same answer. I don’t know where you’re getting this belief that the age of the Earth is in debate.

On Friday there was a meeting at work where everyone insisted that they will not go to the US office anymore.

Sometimes they detain people as they are trying to leave the US.

The one thing that really came home to me traveling in the US was how unbelievably different different parts of it are. If you were an alien or otherwise didn’t know where the borders of countries were you would not believe that Florida and DC could possibly belong to the same country they’re so completely different in culture.

I honestly think that’s part of the problem the US has, they only have two parties and that’s nowhere near enough diversity to cover all of the different kinds of cultures the US has. I have to imagine people in North Dakota have completely different priorities to people in California. Yet there’s absolutely no political recognition of that.

Depends what you get them from though. The ones in Florida are just leathery

When I used to work monitoring CCTVs it was like this. Drove to work in the dark, Go into a windowless office for 12 hours, Go home in the dark.

I used to have my lunch at like 1:00 a.m.

Doesn’t that just result in you doing more work in a day than everyone else? If my boss realizes I’ve done everything they just assign me more work. Sod that.

I was always confused by this active shooter argument. Don’t classrooms have fire doors to the outside isn’t that a requirement that all rooms have at least two exits.

The school I was in had both fire doors to the outside and bathrooms between the classrooms right up until upper education. Even then they still had fire doors to the outside so everyone could just leave.

What if they were dressed up in non-traditional furry attire? Like a sexy octopus, because I feel like the world needs more sexy octopus.

I bet they were really proud of themselves when they worked it out as well.
