This is my changed approach. I used to do what you’re suggesting and it didn’t get anywhere either. It just left me frustrated and worn down. Nowadays I put my actual effort into organizing on the ground in my area. Anything I do online is for my own satisfaction.

What is it with you liberals not understanding that the moral superiority isn’t fake?

Why would any of those people ever help with my leftist agenda? I’m not going to work with fascists or other genocide-enjoyers just to have someone to work with. I’m just hoping that well meaning libs will eventually get tired of having the rug pulled out from under them by the people they elect.

That’s a bummer. My next phone will likely be a used Pixel with GrapheneOS. After that, I’m hoping there will be a usable Linux phone with Android app support.

I mean it as: who is an actual greater opponent in reality to “leftists who care about human rights”: online “tankies” or Democrats who literally threw an election to Trump, in part over their refusal to stop actively supporting a genocide? Reassess who your real enemies are, and prioritize your battles based on what is actually happening in the world.

I feel like this meme makes more sense if instead of “Tankies”, the character is labeled “Democrats”.

I think it is truthful, and it’s important to be honest about it-- not least if you genuinely want a way out of Trumpism. Pretending that the Democrats aren’t a big part of the story of how we got here is dangerous. We need to come to terms with our fundamental issues before we’re able to start moving in the right direction.

All this bullshit about this or that is officially dead or over in America… Democracy, the American Dream, leader of the free world etc. None of that shit was ever true. Yes, Trump is a particularly unvarnished avatar or the US, but stop pretending we were ever what the propaganda told us we were.
