Not OP but I know of a Catholic middle school that used corporal punishment in the PNW. It was still going on in the mid 2000s.

The way I read it was she was in the hospital when the murder went down, not sure about the disposal, thus the prosecutor had to come up with the story of her being a “witch” to make her culpable. I may have read it wrong though.

Sometimes things refuse to stick. I cannot tell you how many times I’ve had some things described to me. It just won’t go in.
