Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez joined the senator at rallies from Nebraska to California to tell how unprecedented wealth and income inequality are threatening democracy and working families.

Too bad he isn’t coming in to the south. I know the danger of a typical magat idiot doing something harmful is higher. What we need here is to rally those of us who will never vote republican again to gather and see we are not alone. By doing so we can show those on the fence that its okay to vote against the magats

We absolutely cannot afford to make a third party right now. That splits the vote and guarantees Republican dominance going forward.

We must change the Democratic party through primaries.

Exactly. In my opinion the best hope for the US is that the democrats fix their party in some amount via primaries, then win next election with a strong majority and immediately reform the electoral system to something better which allows for more parties.

Idk, I think there might be enough people on the right and left willing to change it up and vote for a workers party instead of what we have now. It seems plenty of people are sick of barely surviving as corporate oligarchs get richer, a new party could run on that.

I know I’m ready for one. I’ve been losing faith in and respect for Democrats since the 2016 election and it’s at an all time low.

We’ve had the same 2 parties since before the Civil War. But both have been changed drastically from the inside.

That’s how it has to be done in a 2-party system like ours.

I hope Bernie and AOC can pull something together, because the rest of our “opposition” has less backbone than a single spaghetti noodle thats been boiling for a full day.

I also hope neither of them are disappeared to El Salvador, but I’m worried that AOC is gonna get the Navalny treatment sooner or later. That’s not to say I think she should stop. That’s to say that I genuinely think she should get some non-fascist veterans and 2A supporters to act as her non-federally-affiliated physical security, if she can.

I live in New York City, which voted 90% against Trump. We also elected GOP Rudy Guiliani who ran a really racist campaign as Mayor.

I also think it’s funny when they try to dunk on me with chapter and verse from Marxist literature. Like… dude, I’ve read it too. And I’m also pretty sure you’re not supposed to treat it - or anything, really - that dogmatically. The real world, and humans, and social groups, and humanity, and geopolitics, and global commerce, is not that simple. Trying to boil it down to “how does this compare to Das Kapital” is reductive in the extreme, and is going to be counterproductive in pretty much all respects.

Because Bernie is now part of the DNC brainrot. Talks about low wages while asking us to vote for the people keeping our wages low. Talks universal healthcare while demanding we support those that don’t support universal healthcare. Then there’s the whole Hasbara lie of Israel having the right to defend itself. He’s doing work on behalf of AIPAC without AIPAC money.

They are nothing but sheepdogs herding disenfranchised sheep in the party, giving the illusion that if they stick around long enough they too will have a seat at the table, they are using these rallies as pressure release valves. Right now they talk about oligarchy as if their own party isn’t part of it. They talk about wealthy inequality while asking us to vote for the people enabling that wealth inequality. The DNC has had a sheepdog in every election since Reagan in years when they are not in power.

I am not a communist, and fear communism, but this person has a valid and logical point. Democrats are mostly unelectable because of their anti-gun agenda and when they occasionally win elections they don’t really change anything. Most of the Democrats in office are rich.

AOC and Bernie are still promoting this party of malaise and promises.

That being said, we’ve never seen AOC rule the country. I don’t vote for anti-gun politiicans but gosh, she sure is likable. And genuine.

If you want an idea of what I project AOC becoming, go watch Pelosi’s videos on C-SPAN when she was a jr house member in the 70s. They sound identical. No one is put into positions of power and influence within the party until they tow the party line.

also hard to take Democrats and Republicans seriously but the fact so many people do gives even less hope for the future

After watching Bernie have a Palestine flag removed at one of his rallies, I’m less interested in being herded back to one of the controlled opposition parties.

Edit: I accept your down votes, but Palestine is a flashpoint issue. Capitalism has called for the destruction of a people. This has to be the line we draw. Bernie cannot expect to fight oligarchy while bowing down to Zionism. They are intrinsically linked struggles. Zionism is supported by the US because it positions Israel as a key outpost in one of the most oil rich regions in the world. The genocide is linked to the wars for oil. The constant fight for oil is a result of capitalism. You cannot be a socialist and support Israel. It is antithetical to the values of socialism.
