Summary

Despite claiming countries are “dying to make a deal,” Trump has left multiple world leaders waiting for tariff talks, Politico reported.

Officials from the Philippines and the U.K. said requests for meetings have gone unanswered, while others described Trump aides as unresponsive.

Trump mocked foreign leaders during a GOP fundraiser, impersonating them pleading for deals.

Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt insisted phones are “ringing off the hook,” but failed to explain the communication gap, fueling criticism over the administration’s diplomatic failures amid escalating global trade tensions.

Imagine trying to explain high school bully culture to someone 2000 years from now.

“So, the dumbest people pick on the smartest people and culturally it not only accepted but encouraged…” – no one would believe you.

He’ll be calling back when the dedollarization hits. Well, it’s happening concurrently with the new tariffs. But when his merry band of inept fuckwits figures it out and explains it to him like he’s 5. Then he’ll call back.

That’s what blows my mind - everyone is going to turn away from the USD standard. Almost makes me want to convert a ton of liquid assets into euros. Come to think of it, that wouldn’t be crazy, given the current context.

He’s embarrassed. His tail is between his legs and he can’t face them.

His people are probably scrambling to spin this as a win for tariffs. They got nothin’. He’s hiding.

He’s not embarrassed. It’s not possible. He’s just pumping and dumping the global economy along with his friends and doesn’t give a fuck what happens or what anyone thinks of it.

at the same time his core trauma, the big driving force behind him, the hole in his soul money has never been able to fill, is low self esteem from his daddy never being proud of him, and his mommy being kept away from him by his daddy. he’s desperate to be adored, to fill that childhood hole with the praise of the people. it’s why now that he’s possibly the most powerful person on earth he won’t shut the fuck up about how good he is at golf. he just wants someone to care about his hobbies and tell them they’re proud of him and really mean it. but they can’t mean it because of his access to power. on some level he knows this. but he doesn’t know what it is that he knows, so he’ll keep chasing the love he never got in the places he’ll never get it because this trauma severely twisted him. he will never be free from his core pain so song as he is defined by wealth, fame, and power. we’d be doing him a favor to strip him of these things. we need to do it for our own survival

I think it’s giving Trump too much credit to say this is intentional.

This is what it’s like with an authoritarian leader surrounded by yes-men. Nobody is autonomous, everyone just sits and waits for a decree to take any action. Nobody will return these calls because there’s no consistent policy to communicate.

It’s completely ineffective and inefficient, and that’s fine for Trump because he truly doesn’t care about anything actually working, or losing opportunities for the country, or losing allies. It’s just about the level of control he has, and whether he personally is being deferred to.

Lights the world economy on fire, sits back with his buddies giggling about how stupid everyone else looks running around trying to put it out.

Even worse - since he can create chaos, he and his family are in an unique position to short sell and do other insider trading, becoming ridiculously wealthy in the process
